The Future of Sustainability Work

OVERVIEW

Corporate sustainability
has reached a turning point. For years, teams have been measured by their ability to gather data, reconcile spreadsheets, responds to different frameworks, and deliver disclosures. This repetitive work will now be augmented by AI.

Teams should focus on the decisions that shape business outcomes: where to decarbonise, which trade-offs to make, how to prioritize investments, how to set credible targets. Their highest-value work will be shaping strategy, and informing key decisions.

LATSPACE

At LatSpace, we’re reimagining sustainability work by helping move teams from manual workflows today to an AI-powered future, powered by better data and clearer decision-making insights.

A useful lens

There are two kinds of sustainability work:

  1. High execution burden, low decision value
This includes data collection ops, reporting assembly, manual admin, and framework mapping. This is where software and automation should take over.
  2. High decision value, high internal influence
This includes strategy, target setting, decarbonization and leadership updates. This is where humans should spend more time.

Technology does not remove the need for human judgment; it increases the return on human judgment.
